Founded in 2003, Safe Families for Children surrounds families in crisis with a caring, compassionate community. They are a volunteer-driven non-profit that provides hope and support to families in our local communities.

Because Safe Families for Children serves such a large number of individuals and families in crisis, it was important for them to ensure they were streamlining their communication with every family. They also wanted to be able to coach parents in crisis every day.
The Sun Graphics Media team was called in to solve a dilemma: families, volunteers, and staff did not have a proper mobile CMS to communicate. Their team of volunteers and caseworkers are constantly meeting with families, volunteers, and coaches and they needed a way to be mobile with their case notes and updates. Our team was asked to create an app that would serve as a mobile hub with various functions across the processing pipeline. The goal was to streamline communication between the organization, the volunteer base, and the families.
The Sun Graphics team developed native apps for iOS and Android. The app focuses on the most critical components of casework and family coaching. The Sun Graphics Media team knew that building an app that "does everything" typically reduces app adoption and confuses users. The team worked directly with the Safe Families Information Technology Team, the CMS team, Case Workers and Volunteers to develop an app that would focus on the major needs and would drive high adoption rates. In the first 30 days, they had 83% adoption (download and repeat opens) to those who were told about the app. Now Safe families has an app that helps them serve their communities and coach families in crisis.
