Senior Graphic Designer

Sun Graphics Media is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer. This position is responsible for bringing the vision of the brand to life through innovative, brand-appropriate and trend-right graphic designs. Primary responsibilities include the design and execution of marketing collateral, point-of-sale signage and displays, in-store signage, and digital marketing collateral. An important brand custodian, this role ensures that all design work makes all brand executions consistent across all platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic comprehension; develops creative concepts and implementations that are consistently on target with brand objectives
  • Uses visual design, layout, digital interactive design, and typographic expertise to conceptualize, develop, and produce output for a wide range of media, including promotional marketing materials, emails, social media assets, advertisements, print, posters, banners, retail signage, and POP displays
  • Plans concepts by studying information and materials; synthesize multiple inputs in order to develop creative direction
  • Presents visual and creative direction for all campaigns and advertising platforms
  • Develops original designs and sees all projects through to completion, from initial concept and design to final production
  • Ensures that deliverables adhere to brand position guidelines and that they translate into integrated solutions for web, mobile, offline media and in-store executions
  • Manages multiple design projects which involve working closely with all members of the Marketing Team, cross-functional internal business partners as well as close communication with suppliers/vendors to create collateral, promotional and advertising pieces
  • Is a key partner in nurturing the evolution of our brand identity and strategy
  • Employs graphic and interactive design best practices and optimization techniques
  • Communicates effectively in a well-articulated, professional manner with both the creative and marketing staff
  • Displays superior customer service; is informative, adaptable to changes, and is a constant ambassador for the creative group with effective interpersonal skills that create win-win situations
  • Brings new ideas to help drive consumer engagement
  • Works independently on projects from initial stages to completion
  • Follows direction of the organization and embraces any opportunity to show initiative
  • Ensures all design materials are consistent with corporate branding guidelines
  • Works closely with Marketing Vice President and other marketing team members in the production and execution of assigned projects
  • Tracks execution and results to improve results
  • Contracts and directs outside creative resources for product photography, illustration, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design/Graphic Arts, Digital Media, and Interaction Design or related field
  • 5 + years’ experience in a design studio, agency or in-house design department
  • Strong understanding or connection with the off-price shopper/consumer
  • Excellent understanding of design process, including digital, pre-press and printing processes
  • Adapts well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates flexibility and openness to ideas and feedback
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills; strong verbal presentation skills; ability to influence cross-functional partners to deliver unrivaled graphic designs on time and on target
  • Highly organized with thoughtful attention to detail and follow-through
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently; good time management skills and strong work ethic
  • Deadline-oriented; proven ability to meet both creative and timing expectations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including print, POS, branding, typography, retail graphics, app, social and web design
  • Ability to present concepts/ideas to senior management
  • Disciplined, organized and can be trusted to follow through projects from start to finish with complete immersion and accountability
  • Ability to work cohesively as a member of the marketing and design team; ability to not only lead fearlessly as a contributor but also to take direction and work with a team
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Exceptional skills in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Knowledge in web design, coding, google analytics is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior retail marketing experience required

This position can be located in Sheboygan Wisconsin.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • Graphic Design: 5 years (Required)
  • Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Adobe XD is a plus.

Location: Sheboygan Wisconsin (work from home is available for the right candidate) (Preferred)
